These types are applicable at the programming, pre, and schematic phases of design.Assemblies Estimate At the design/ development phase, these type estimates are typically organized by Uniformat II.Unit Price Estimates Unit Price estimates are very detailed, organized by CSI MASTERFORMAT and are applicable at the design development, construction document, bidding, and construction administration phases of design.

The Wool-Zee Company offers construction cost estimating training to various companies and public entities ranging from private contractors to the United States Navy.Our seminars are catered to the needs and desires of each customer and are traditionally 1 day courses., class sizes range from one on one office based training to larger 30 person seminars.The training is conducted by experienced cost estimators from The Wool-Zee Company and will leave each attendant with a solid understanding of construction cost estimating practices and standards. The Wool-Zee Company, Inc. is celebrating 20 years of providing professional cost estimating and construction management services to building owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and facility managers. The Wool-Zee Company is an industry leader, delivering accurate, unbiased construction consulting services in a timely manner. Since 1990, Wool-Zee has estimated over 1 Billion square foot of projects at a total cost exceeding $750 million. The Wool-Zee experience encompasses a variety of project types including new and remodel construction. Project types include churches, colleges, libraries, medical facilities, fire stations, military facilities, power plants, public schools, office buildings, residential, municipal and civil sewer, runway and roadway projects.The Wool-Zee Company also provides training to others in the industry on topics of estimating and construction project management. Rory Woolsey is a senior instructor and has given over 7,000 classroom hours of estimating training throughout the country. The RSMeans Company has utilized Rory for Means estimating training to its clientele since 1985.
RORY M. WOOLSEY, FOUNDER
Rory Woolsey has worked in Management and Engineering for the construction industry for 33 years, starting as a construction laborer in Billings, Montana, in 1972. He has since held positions as a field engineer, project manager, MIS manager, testing laboratory manager, estimator, senior editor, designer, structural engineer, and general contractor. He is currently the President of The Wool-Zee Company, Inc., construction consultants.Mr. Woolsey has also held positions with some of the leaders in the construction industry, such as Bechtel, H.J. Kaiser Constructors, and the R.S. Means Company and has worked on projects ranging from heavy, military, industrial, commercial and residential. He has given over 7,000 classroom hours of instruction nationally to architects, engineers, contractors, and facility managers on topics of project management, CPM scheduling, construction estimating, facility maintenance, partnering, and leadership. He is known nationally for his expertise in estimating, job order contracting and project management. As well, Mr. Woolsey is an adjunct professor in leadership and management programs at City University.Recent accomplishments include estimating, negotiating and construction management of a $7.6 million taxiway installation and runway repairs at NAS Whidbey Island. The project included 6 miles of replaced asphalt shoulders, 7,500 LF of runway crack repair and 7,000 CY of concrete pavement placement. Rory has provided estimates for over 10 million square feet of projects at a cost of over $765 Million. Mr. Woolsey has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration, with an emphasis in construction project management.
MATTHEW M. WOOLSEY, PRINCIPAL
Matthew Woolsey joined The Wool-Zee Company in 2009. Matthew has over a decade of experience in various trades within the construction industry. While serving in the United States Coast Guard, Matthew worked as a Machinery Technician specializing in heating and cooling systems. After his military service, matt worked with a mechanical contractor, gaining valuable hands-on experience with both plumbing and HVAC systems. Before joining The Wool-Zee Company, Matthew owned a contracting business specializing in home remodel projects. Since joining the firm, Matthew has been a key team member on several large estimating projects, including the Bellingham Technical College Campus Center. His knowledge of all facets of the construction industry make him a valued principal.
